The author mentions hijacking - this is what same sex marriage is doing. Wouldn't it be much more groovy to be a bit underground anyway? Like the main character in Queer as Folk said to his mate who had a gay marriage - which he couldn't understand why he wanted to get married. I have gay friends and that's how they like it (living on the edge) and they think the same sex marriage thing is complete farce (and hijack).
