Greens power supply : Comments

By Greg Barns, published 22/7/2010

Would the Greens ever block supply? Given the party could hold the balance of power in the Senate next year it is a fair question.

I am concerned too. But look, the Greens have now stated about the Labor's climate change non policy. People's assembly, that was to please the Greens. It won't happen. The Greens are an ideological force but to me some of their policies are great ideas but more philosophical/spiritual than politically practical like a global government? See their site, its there for all to behold.

So they have to win seats before they get control or the balance of power in the Senate as well as the House of Reps. It's more likely in my mind, that the Independents will have sway. The main thing is kick the ALP out first. Watch how you vote folks, don't give the greens your second preferences, because that is a vote for labor if that candidate wins on preferences alone.

When it comes down to it, like last time if the Reserve bank puts up the interest rates again this will give Labor another nudge out of the door.

King Hazzard, instead of shooting the messenger, why not put in an intelligent response. If you have not got anything to say pertinent
to this blog, then butt out.

Sorry Greg, I can't stand people who slam the writer for their opinion rather than what they are discussing.

Fair enough Bush Bunny I will happily list my grievances;
Firstly, Barns' question is never answered if Greens would block supply, though he tries to hint at such because
-The Liberals- a totally ideologically different (and much more corrupt) party did it and used its own justification.
-Brown is a 'hard-liner' because he does not compromise party position (unlike Barns' former employers, the Democrats- or the Liberals, for that matter).
-The only relevance his inane article is asking a question (which he conveniently refuses to answer himself) about the paramaters of 'gross corruption/misconduct'- which is relevant because of the corruption and misconduct so far, the Greens have STILL not blocked supply though they have voted against them. I would assume something exceptionally unconstitutional.

And Greg is HARDLY a 'messenger'- he is very much an active lobbyist, and as one who considers Australia to be a "racist pigsty" because we don't open up to asylum seekers- somebody I (and I imagine most other people) cannot take seriously beyond the possibility that his idiocy and attitude might rub off on others (not unlike Bill O Reilly in the USA).
And I might add, I was one of the few people that gave George Williams the benefit of a doubt on his article about the electoral roll beyond advocating compulsory voting.

Given Greg's past history, and given his dishonest and information-less writing methods still used, he deserves nothing more than our ridicule, just like David Flint and Malcolm King.

Well when you start screaming ad hominin saying the Libs are corrupt and so is Prof David Flint I class you as bigoted and uninformed. So look at the typical AGW alarmist, Republican, change the flag ignorant diatribes, that earns no points with me or the educated.

Extremists are so blinked in the arguments, they lie to please themselves. Don't you know most intelligent people check up on accusations. From my memory, ALP both State and Federal have been up to their eyeballs in corruption. As some recent court cases have suggested well and truly. Now which Liberals are corrupt, and why do you say David Flint misinforms people. Don't you think Australians
make up their own minds, eh. And do their research too.

Are you like Brown a Republican an alternative life stylist? Just because you hate Brits and the Queen, who has absolutely no influence
in Australia. Go away young man, and play your computer games, you live in an alternative universe from the rest of us.

I'm actually not any of those Bush Bunny, you could ask anyone here with a brain and they will probably describe me as conservative. But thankyou for making yourself look like an idiot and, by extension, all of the things you support as well. Nor, for that matter am I a particularly staunch Republican (Greg Barns is though- your silly accusation would have fitted HIM, on the other hand, perfectly).

Anyway, it takes a weak mind indeed to fall into the assumption that anybody who hates the Liberal Party MUST be aligned to Labor (who are indeed slightly more corrupt than the Libs) instead- another failure. Had you have been around even for a few months (or even bothered to read some of the other threads) you would have known better- instead of making yourself look like a moron who sees a simple world where people shoehorn themselves into either the "left" or "conservative" team and cheer their players so their team keeps winning- instead of, you know, thinking for themselves.

Anyway, for reference to others, you can follow Bush Bunny's advice and read some David Flint articles and come up with your own conclusions. Don't miss the one where he tries to cover for Richard Pratt's price-rigging attempt.
