Cj Morgan,
The values I observed & adopted are to care about your country without the need for trumpets. A real Australian is in essence not much different from a real American or Englishman or Chinese or Arab. It's the hangers on who lack the emotion to care & feel any sense of responsibility. These traits are not peculiar to any nationality but is is peculiar to those in every society who avoid the experience of reward for effort. From my personal experience this applies largely to those in the Public Service & those with season tickets on the social welfare bandwagon. The social engineers who are 99% academic are also epidemic in this mentality. Those at the top of the judiciary pyramid don't appear to see eye to eye with the values of fairness & decency either. In the 4 decades here I have come to realise that Australians only think they're different. Australian values are expressing concern for the future of Australians. These values are not to accommodate the whims of religious zealot back door migrants who are hellbent on causing division among the people who take them in.

So you're saying that there are no specifically Australian values that you've been able to identify in 40 years? I thought so.

I don't suppose you've heard about stuff like mateship, egalitarianism and a fair go?

CJ Morgan,
Of course I've heard of those. There's always some reference to that in australian movies & literature
