Australia stuck in the middle : Comments

The coming contest for global primacy between the US and China will have profound implications for Australia.

If Australia stuck somewhere, it is a middle of the road between colonial naturally-anti-US pro-English today and sovereign tomorrow as following China, culturally and politically, is as much realistic and practical for a national interest as keeping a taxpayer-paid envoy to the entity not recognized by the UN, Vatican is.

Since I wrote my last post on this thread I notice that China's GDP
has reached 11.9% ! This staggering figure means one thing.
If it was to continue China would double its economy in 5.8 years.
This is easy to demonstrate to be impossible.
First there is not enough energy in the form of oil, gas and coal to
enable such growth. There will not be enough tankers to deliver the
required oil possibly even for the next year as 10% growth is probably
impossible.
Just on the required energy, I cannot see China going much more than
12 months without a recession in one form or another.
