Middle East Neo Colonialism since WW2.

US illegally occupies Iran just after WW2.

Iran retaken by Iranian troops seven years later, with US Embassy held as prisoners.

To get her own back on Iran, America talks Saddam of Iraq into attacking Iran with American aid. But after 8 years Saddam is forced to arrange for an armistice.

By this time Israel comes into the ME picture, illegally allowed by a dumb global Western media to begin construction with American, French and South African aid, ultra modern nuclear facilities right now ready to fire nuclear warheads.

So began an academic historian's nightmare, historical writers taught to be truthful and pro-democratic, now left wondering, wondering, especially as in Australia John Howard seemed to be backing US policies deliberately pushing aside democratic institutions like the United Nations and Geneva and Hague Conventions.

Naturally, now with deadly atomic Israel, much more Arab suicidal-type terrorism came into the picture, something fully expected by good historians.

And even previouly such as bin Laden had angrily come into historical view, former Saudi Taliban leader formerly fighting for America, now out to get America.

But why should bin Laden turn his angers against the West?

Possibly simple for any junior academic to answer.

Asking why was there so much need for thousands of lone US troops to be permanently based near Bin Laden's home country?

It could be said that having just US troops to protect Saudi borders and not instead globally arranged United Nations forces, had made it look so much like neo-colonialism under Saudi agreement.

Therefore just as bin Laden proved to be a terribly dangerous anti-Westerner, we thus later found leaders later like George W Bush feeling the need for an even stronger Americana, yet even though only backed so far by Britain and Australia.

Yet despite the worry about neo-colonialism, it seems colonial pride has been the answer, helped so much by an enduring cousinship between the three, proved by the ability to so successfully promote the illegal attack on Iraq

However, finally, one may ask, where was the rest of the World?

The real worry for the those who vote for the Liberal Party is that Sarah Murdoch helped Tony Abbott launch his book last year. What strings are the Murdoch clan pulling?

Is Tony Abbott the newly annointed by the oligarchy or is he an autonomous person of conviction and principle? Will Tony Abbott try to censor the internet like K Rudd? Murdoch is all about absolute power of corporate empires and no democracy for us.Murdoch wants the net to be like his newspapers.User pays and censored by Govt and Corp interests.

Do not trust any of them!

If newscorp's alleged journalism was any good, we would not be blogging on sites like OLO.

The Rupert Murdoch who has privately jetted back into the country of his birth is a pathetic shadow of the individual I knew so well half a century ago. Holding court at his country estate outside Canberra, he has seen an opportunity to put Tony Abbott in his pocket just as he did with another Tony in England. Rupert learned many years ago that there were some politicians he could bend to his will and some he couldn’t.

At 79 he still possesses the confidence, charm and the slick brain that brought him so far along the way to enormous wealth and a degree of influence that made him a force to be reckoned with everywhere he went. To see him in the flesh, however, comes as a shock, his face sagging with deep, dark rivulets of worry lines that reflect a lifetime of chasing the rainbow.

Now his empire is beginning to crumble and he is charging around the world trying to save it, selling off some assets, closing down others. All but a few of his newspapers are losing money and influence, his corporation kept afloat by the money coming in from pay-TV and from the annual blockbuster movie his Fox studio manages to turn out. The rest is in crisis.

He is hated and obstructed in America and EU, has been blindsided and robbed in India, derided in China and mostly forgotten in Australia until he makes his occasional fly-in to bark orders at his loyal troops.

For 60 years he has tried to destroy the ABC. The concept of a free government media service has always enraged him. The Rudd government’s initiatives on digital TV and the new broadband network are threats to his pay-TV interests here. This is why his papers and his networks will try to get Tony Abbott’s fragmented Liberal rabble elected to prevent another term for Labor.

Anyone who remembers Rupert’s brutal, personal campaign against the Whitlam government in the 1970s will know just how dirty this fight will be.
