The only time we need to be worried about an apocalypse is if we let academics and think tanks run the show. Such people have so little practical experience of the real world that, combined with their delusion that they are superior to the rest of the population, they become overconfident in their ideas and may exert undue influence on decision makers.

Simms' idea that things like mental illness and ill health are not "natural" but "the product of decades of mass-indoctrination by powerful advertising agencies" is a classic example of the deluded thought processes of the academic. Only an individual with limited life experience combined with an inflated sense of the importance of their own ideas would even proffer that silly idea in the public arena.

What a bit of pot boiling rubbish. Publishing for publishings sake.

An utterly meaningless re run of failed hypothesis, that are even secondhand, by someone too far down the track to come up with something new.

People like this should not be published, unless they produce at least something to back up their meandering thoughts.

Dear Earth,
We regret to inform you that we are unable to continue your insurance policy for catastrophic anthropogenic events as the risk has become no longer tenable.

We will reconsider resuming cover when we see evidence of the following.

1/. A reduction in greenhouse gases to levels that existed over the last 5000 years and prior to 1800.

2/. The elimination of all nuclear weapons.

3/. An agreement to eliminate the use of biological weapons.

4/. A sustainable economy.

Yours Faithfully
Ewesis Stufus,
Senior Catastrophe Data Analyst.

To the administrators of Earth blog olo

We note that you have received input from one Ewesis Stufus (aka warmair) who pro-ports to be the Senior Catastrophe Data Analyst at Planetary Insurance Systems.

Please be advised that he is a serial doomsayer who has escaped from Elba II --home of the criminally insane-- where he was consigned following the failure of his neural pathway restructuring operation

He is considered highly delusional and dangerous and we of the Federation Police are anxious to apprehend him. By order of the High Council of the United Federation of Planets we order you to hand over any information you have as to his whereabouts.

Jean-Luc Picard III
Federation Police Commissioner
