How concerned should we be about Iranian threats to block the Strait of Hormuz?

As long as the peaceful democratic free world forces of the world, the US, Israel, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia limit their actions to economic sanctions designed to destroy Iran's economy, covert assassination and sabotage programs, violating Iran's air space with drones, only threaten massive attacks and not shoot down any more Iranian airliners, Iran will not attack the 5th Fleet that fills the Persian Gulf nor the dozens of military bases that surround it. Once the the peaceful governments start treating Iran as they did Lebanon, Gaza, Palestine, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, or Iraq, then the Gulf of Hormuz will be closed temporarily for less than a year. Afterwards every tanker will have a full air and sea escort to prevent the naval equivalent of IEDs, remember the Cole.
