Would you believe in that hot bed of renewable energy that the UK has become, rail freight operators are now reportedly being forced to halt their electric locomotives and revert back to diesel trains.

We don't know if that is because of shortages of electricity due to windmills not doing their job, or because electricity has become too expensive for them to be able to afford the power.

Coal fired power stations are being reopened, but unfortunately there aren't enough of them left to save the day. Unlike many in Europe, the Poms were stupid enough to decommission their coal power houses, rather than mothball them. Europe has seen a 4% increase in coal fired power generation, as much as was available to recommission.

What wonderful things are these unreliables, lets hope Morrison sees this rubbish close hand when he goes to Scotland for the current global warming junket.

" ...lets hope Morrison sees this rubbish close hand when he goes to Scotland for the current global warming junket".

If Morrison was worth a pinch of poop, he would not be going anywhere near this twenty sixth waste of time. Morrison is indulging in the very thing that saw the ALP lose an election they should have won. Morrison has done a complete backflip on the only thing that returned him to office. It is now being said that Morrison is admitting that Shorten was right, and we should have all voted Labor to 'save the planet'.

What a jerk Morrison is.

Scott Morrison is totally unable to ignore his party’s Leftists, Boris Johnson, the Royal Family, and the net-zero media-activist cabal, and stick to his position of earlier this year.

They weren't forced - they made a commercial decision - see https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/uk-energy-prices-crisis-rail-diesel-b1937543.html

The UK has no shortage of electricity, though some people predict there could be one in the coming winter. The main problem is high gas prices.

The UK has at last decided to build more nuclear power stations (something it should have done years ago) to reduce its reliance on gas. Meanwhile the most sensible course of action is to invest in more solar and wind power - that may be counterintuitive to you, but it means less gas is needed.

Dear Hasbeen,

Bloody hell mate, don't you even read the articles?

So the UK has high prices precisely because of the shortage of an imported FOSSIL fuel and you are running this line? Ridiculous.

Thatcher closing all the coal mines means they are dependent on imports for the fossil fuel as well.

Part of the current problem is that 2 of the 5 French Nuclear plants that can supply the UK are offline due to maintenance and a third has had an unplanned shutdown.

Windpower gives the UK a sovereign source to the exclusion of most of the others and as a Brexiteer you should be applauding it.

Instead you run with your little meme of blaming everything on renewables.

Wind power, such a great sovereign source that without french nuclear the lights go out.
