Seems that it worked well until the last of the bettongs provided sustenance for a fox.

"He says traditional fox control methods of shooting and baiting failed. “It doesn’t cut the mustard,” the parks chief said.

“We have to be more innovative in the way we control foxes, because the reward is almost within reach of a reintroduction. We have been able to demonstrate that these animals can exist with foxes in the environment,” he said."

That is until the foxes ate them all.

It took me a while to stop laughing at this one. How thick is the hide of these gunnies. Remembering it was the GUNNIES WHO INTRODUCED FOXES INTO AUSTRALIA in the first place for "sport" for the upper crust gunnies, wanting to 'hunt to hounds'. 200 years later the gunnies are pontificating on how to control foxes. Today GUNNIES ARE BEING CAUGHT RELEASING FERAL PESTS SUCH AS PIGS AND FOXES into unaffected areas, so they can have their perverted fun, sport if like to call it.

Getting gunnies to tell you how to control foxes, is like asking the fox how to control the chickens. If it wasn't so laughable it would be kicked off the forum. Free speech and all that a Issy!

Paul,

More of your desperate bulldust.

Foxes were introduced to hunt on horseback and had nothing to do with guns.

Do read a bit of history.

You're a wily old fox Issy, so in one "fowl" move YOU introduced feral foxes, dogs and horses!.... Tally Ho! Judging by yesterdays election in NSW the Shooters and Hooters had a few feral donkeys running around as well.
