It is a collective of like minds, watching over the collective welfare of the flock. Socialism!"
Or fascist enterprise , same thing . The Hitler rallies and Trump's triumphal tramp of trombones , hail to the chief. Soviet nationalist

Hi Armchair,

I had a look at that Venezuela article you linked to, and I have to say it's extremely inaccurate. It, and indeed the entire site, seems to spin and cherry pick evidence to suit its antiAmerican bias.

American meddling in Venezuela is well known, but it is NOT the cause of this year's crisis. There were three main causes of that:
• The Chávez government had implemented a very anti-business form of socialism, so their economy was in deep trouble by the time Maduro took over.
• The Maduro government kept the Bolivar at a fixed exchange rate against the US dollar even when the price of oil (Venezuela's main export) halved. And though the Bolivar's real value has collapsed, the government failed to reduce its official value so exporting remained very difficult.
• The socialists subsequently lost control of the legislature. But the government, with a compliant judiciary, stripped the legislature of all its powers. And they cracked down on the widespread protests.

And since the biased article you've linked to was written, they've continued to persecute anyone who's expressed opposition, and they've installed a new legislature that's at best semidemocratic, and more likely pseudodemocratic as there appeared to be systematic electoral fraud.

Hi Aiden,
I can't say that I know geopolitics in Venezuela all that well, but I'm pretty aware of the types of things the US does to promote putting their own people in power.

Fund the opposition, ferment civil unrest, and initiate mass protests.
Push the regime to get a reaction in front of media that shows the government in a terrible light, and force the government to crackdown on so-called free press, which is acting in support of the regime change.
Then after the government cracks down on the (so-called) free press, the same free press argues that the incumbent government is acting undemocratically, and push the idea that the leader is a dictator attacking his own people (which probably aren't actually his people, but foreign paid provocateurs.

It's a bloody play-book right?

So I admit I don't know Geopolitics in Venezuela real well, but the first two articles I found seem to look like my first article posted seemed valid enough, though I'm not sure if I am.
I'll have to look into it more.

First article I found.
http://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/09/world/americas/venezuela-maduro-us-sanctions.html
Second Article I found.
http://www.globalresearch.ca/whats-really-happening-in-venezuela-from-someone-who-knows/5604010

Now I don't know for certain, but it looks like the same old US playbook to me.

This news article might interest you, since Venezuela has the worlds largest oil reserves.

Armchair Critic.

The blaming of America for the failure of countries and their leaders is wearing a bit thin.

I don't deny that America has been guilty of underhanded interference in some countries
but a lot of the crazy leaders and uneducated people in the world bear a lot of responsibility for the failure of their societies today. They are quite capable of causing all the violence and mayhem all by themselves.

It's laughable that America is getting all pious about Russia's interference in Americas election given Americas reputation for doing the same thing.

I do think that, all systems, be they communist,, socialist or capitalist are eventually taken over by a ruling elite, who make sure a lot of the wealth is channeled into their own pockets. Being able to vote in honest elections maybe has a degree of protection for the working and middle class masses, but in the end it still doesn't prevent the wealthy from creating a monopoly that favours the corporations and political classes.

The wealthy faceless people who Run world banks and the world through their monetary power are no longer just rich white men. They Include, wealthy Chinese, Japanese, Saudi kings and princes, and some very wealthy Indian families.
So America does not have a monopoly on underhand tactics to disenfranchise the rest of the worlds masses anymore. The wealthy from all nations are involved.
