interesting that in the recent vote that the biggest bullies ever witnessed in this country were supporters of the yes vote. Now they want to putrify the mind of young boys and girls, I suspect to have their own filthy minds eased.

History classes were even worse for that sort of thing. I don't know if this is still in fashion, but my during high school years the teachers were very keen on 'empathy pieces'. That's where you try to use the meagre and sometimes dodgy facts fed to you in class to produce a piece of creative writing where you try to imagine yourself as a Roman slave or an early Australian settler's wife or whatever. Complete bollocks, of course, and completely at odds with the proper appreciation of history as a rigorous academic endeavour.

It doesn't seem to have done me, or any of my peers with whom I'm still in touch, any noticeable harm (except for a lack of a decent history education, which the more inquisitive seek to rectify for themselves anyway). Certainly, none of us were 'brainwashed' [pseudoscience alert: brainwashing is not a thing] into believing that we were actually Roman slaves.

//To have perfectly gender formed children questioning their gender//

Jesus, whose dystopian sci-fi novel have I wandered into?

//Because teachers have all the natural inclinations of their sexuality it becomes an opportunity to groom sensitive children and be sexually attracted to a responsive child.//

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're getting at. Are you saying that:

a) All teachers are secret rock spiders.
or
b) Everybody is a secret rock spider and teachers just have more opportunity.

Because I don't think either option is correct.

The rot set in when the academics really got hold of teachers, while at the same time so many men were forced elsewhere.

While the academics only got 2 years at primary school teachers at teachers college, with that actually only making about 16 months, it was not too bad. When it took 5 years, [Arts & a dip ed.], they could give then the full brainwashing.

We got silly little city girls coming out to the bush, telling farmers kids anyone who chopped down a tree was a vandal. Then again, kids who have been watching cattle, sheep, horses & such mating since they could walk, are probably not quite so susceptible to this safer schools tripe.

I can imagine my eldest daughter explaining to some bright eyed city girl teacher how it all worked, when she was in first class.

ttbn,

"Surely the 'victim' can decide not to be a victim and prevail against the bully? "

Particularly if the victim belts the bully one in the nose, there is nothing like the sight of his own claret flowing to curb the desires of a bully.

Can always rely on some laughable misinformed comments on 'Safe Schools' from the forums usual suspects. Josephus has got the pommy girl guides in his sights for a bit of extra stick. According to sweet little Pete the new buzz in schools is the compulsory participation by children in the perverted practice of Poofterism. Hassy, what we do not need is intelligent people as teachers, not when we could have a Hassy Neanderthal to front a classroom full of kids, and grunt and groan for an entire lesson, no two ways about it, that would be full on education.

"I agree even more. Nobody taught me how to conduct myself in the solo symphony. It's one of those things that everybody should be able to work out for themselves, at their own pace." Good advice Toni, but if Fr.Joe is having difficulty with Mrs Palmer and her five lovely daughters, I can send him a rather tacky old copy of the 'Masturbaters Handbook' with diagrams, and my own rather stcky hand written margin notes. Failing that the 1960's schoolboy porno bible, National Geographic's Special African edition with full frontal colour pics should help out, and I'm not talk'n elephants.

Foxy, please stop posting sensible informed comment on this, its too much for the forums homophobes to comprehend. One would much rather talk about their own sex education, when watching what bulls and cows got up to down in the back paddock.

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/teens-charged-in-south-australia-for-planning-school-attack-20171129-gzv67i.html

"Detective Superintendent Bray said police first became aware of the planned attack on November 3 and both teenagers were arrested on November 10."

So you became aware that two kids who were planning to blow-up the school and murder their schoolmates a week before you actually intervened?
What would you say to the parents of 50 dead Aussie kids?
We knew about the attack but did nothing for a week?
And you're trying to convince us schools are safe?

Detective Superintendent Des Bray, head of South Australia's major crime branch, said the planned massacre would have been "catastrophic" and added it was likely it would have been carried out had it not been thwarted by police.

It wasn't twarted by police, the kids themselves messed up and told their mates.
Nothing to do with competence of police.

- He said police became aware of the planned massacre after the teenagers began to tell others what they intended to do.
"They told some other people about what they were intended to do, and then they told other people," he said.

So what do we learn from this?

THAT THERE COULD BE A TERRORIST ATTACK PLANNED AT YOUR KIDS SCHOOL TOMORROW.

- And even if authorities have been made aware of it, they may not have yet intervened.
THEY MIGHT KNOW, BUT STILL WON'T TELL STUDENTS OR PARENTS
You won't know about it until 'AFTERWARDS'.

Whatever 'AFTERWARDS' is; either the threat neutralised, or your kids dead or in hospital.

Schools Safe?
You've got to be kidding me right?

Is this not what the article states?
Or do I just read things differently to everyone else?
