The Future of the Great Southern Gnomeland

Many Gnomes are concerned about the future of the Great Southern Gnomeland, and the greater Gnomeworld, of which it is a small but delightful part.

Gnomes are often castigated over their past invasions of Fairyland, Elfland and Trollworld, but spent much of history fighting other Gnomes.

The last great Gnome conflict, Gnomeworld War II, caused by particularly obnoxious Gnomes in sexy uniforms, was so bad, Gnomes decided they would never fight again.

Around the same time, some Gnomes were possessed by Evil Spirits, who cast a spell, making them speak pleasant but shallow words, proffering a merger of all the Creature Worlds, to be more “efficient” and “humanitarian”.

Fairies, Elves and Trolls had never lived *together* before, nor had most even met a Gnome.

Yet the pleasant-words spell made everyone ignore this.

So Fairies, Elves and Trolls started getting Rainbow rides across to the Gnomeworld, first in small numbers, but then millions.

Gnomes who questioned this were told to throw themselves off a cliff.

One Southern Gnome with red hair spoke up and got thrown in prison on false charges.

But the time has come to protect the future of Gnomeland.

We must stop allowing any more permanent Rainbow rides of Fairies, Elves and Trolls.

Many Fairies, Elves and Trolls would like to return to their Worlds, but don't have enough gold to buy a Rainbow ride.

We should stop funding OtherWorld Aid and use that gold to help these homesick Creatures.

Some Fairies, Elves and Trolls will still live amongst us, and need not fear.
They can still eat Fairy food, wear Elf clothes and worship Troll gods.
Gnomes value personal freedom highly, and will respect your privacy, as long as you do no harm.

As the stress of the recent UniWorld Experiment fades from memory. a new equilibrium will emerge in Gnomeland, and everyone, Gnome, Giant, Fairy, Elf and Troll, will be happier and healthier.

Let's work and play together, laugh and cry together, but most importantly of all, sing and dance together.

We will survive.

The full original version is on the blog link.
I had to edit it to fit the word limit.

Lets hear it for tales - ones that unfold,
from times present and past of days of old.

A few, may think they've heard it all, tales of
kingdoms, large and small. Of handsome knights,
armoured and brave, and maidens-in-strife who need
to be saved. Dragons mean, who kill and destroy.
Breathing fire and smoke, they're out to annoy.
Merry old kings with beautiful daughters, who make
strong men weak, and do what they oughtn't. These
mythical kingdoms are ours to explore. Though perhaps
other tales may hold us in awe?

Tales of pumpkins, coaches, and slippers of glass.
Princesses who sleep, and awaken at last. There's frogs
who are princes, and witches who sew. Owls who don't blink,
oh, the things that they know.

Then there's elves, gnomes, and goblins, it's britches
they wear. Friars who drink, and really do care. There's
hobbits and wizards, and creatures who frighten. Wise sages,
soothsayers, and folks who enlighten. Outlaws in forests who
give to the poor. A king commits murder, because he's a Moor.
These are the tales that may take your fancy. Still others
may yearn for the yarn about Clancy.

We now have a tale of creatures rare. Of goblins, and
faeries, and gnomes, but beware. You'd better join hands, sing
loudly and thrive. Living in Gnome-land - you will survive.

There's a new king in Gnome-land
Who really loves to chatter
He doesn't trust the news
He knows what's the matter

Don't try to undermine him
You'll get a big surprise
All of your attempts
Will lead to your own demise

It looks like he's here to stay
So you'd better let him be
'Cause there isn't another gnome
who's quite as rich as he

Even his hair is the colour of yellow
And gold is what he treasures
This very clever fellow
Gnome-land can be a very tough place
But not for such as he
Who's so In Your Face

Dear Shocker,

I watched youtube and I was totally blown away
by your talent. Words for once fail me.
Instead I'll go back and watch the videos again
and again.

You've captured the Southern Gnomeland beautifully.
What a remarkable place it is.

Dear Shocker,

You wrote about the Great Southern Gnomeland -
and did it brilliantly along with your video.

I tried to do a similar take on the other
gnome-land up north but didn't do so well.

Anyway, I'll give it one last shot here:

There's a new king in Gnome-land
Who lifts up her glory
The flag of her stars
And the page of her story

This gnome loves to chatter
Doesn't trust news
They're all simply fake
Don't agree with his views

He'll rant and he'll rave
And do what it takes
He'll clean up the land
Get rid of the fakes

But his claims are so many
Little's been done
Won't answer questions
He'll simply run

The gnomes in the South-land
Are free to survive
While we in the North
Aren't able to thrive

We don't have the power
To throw this gnome out
He's friends with red bear
Who's got so much clout

To those in our Congress
We're asking for help
Please do so and quick
Before we get whelped!

I hope that some other posters will join in the fun.
Your blog and your video is worth a read and look.
