After the stunt Morrison et al pulled in parliament, waving their lump of coal around, it shows the contempt they have for the Australian voters.
This supposed to be the place and they are the people who run Australia.
It shows that we have no hope while these morons are in charge.
Please remember this type of behaviour at the next election and no matter what your objections are to Labour, Greens and any others that have their hat in the ring, vote for them and not the neonazis.

Robert,

If we stop exporting coal and burn it ourselves we will cut down pollution enormously.

I support what Morrison did bringing a lump of coal into Parliament.
If politicians aren't willing to get serious about running the country properly then there is no point having them at all.

Erdogan has a vote to abolish Turkey's parliament and make him Fuhrer for 12 years. Trump is working on the same plan , everyone will be happy, it's nice and great. Therefore Australia will have to copy the US , Turnbull is the Nation's Protector and we get electricity ,
gay marriage, coal , pension cuts, gay marriage, coal and coal.

How the idiots carry on in Parliament is the least of of our worries. It's what they do behind closed doors and in conference with lobbyists and crooks - stuff we don't know about - that is the problem.

I've always recommended organised crime for government. That way we all know what we're getting instead of this uncertainty.

Dear Critic,

«If politicians aren't willing to get serious about running the country properly then there is no point having them at all.»

Yes - and ditto if they are.

---

Dear Ttbn,

«How the idiots carry on in Parliament is the least of of our worries.»

It is our worry so long as they claim to do whatever they do in our name.
What they do behind our back, at least we are not responsible for.

---

Dear Nick,

«I've always recommended organised crime for government.»

You have a point there! What we cannot do anything about, we also cannot be held responsible for.

The Courier mail pointed out that Morrison's
stunt would have been "coal" comfort for
the people of South Australia who suffered
through another round of blackouts on a day
when temperatures rose to 41C.

In South Australia months of intermittent blackouts
have thrust the energy problem back on the agenda.
Hopefully, political games will cease and finding
solutions to the energy problems will come to the
fore.

Foxy the people of South Australia deserve not one iota of sympathy. They have voted in this crazy government, with their ratbag policies, time & again.

They have been happy to see their economy destroyed, & then live of other people's efforts, bludging on the rest of the country. The amount of other people's GST money, electricity & water poured into this failed state is disgusting.

I guess we can be thankful that their failure highlights for the rest of us, the stupidity of the Green Blob. Perhaps, but only perhaps it will enlighten,[like it] the rest of us in time to prevent the same disaster befalling the rest of the country, & our lights going out.

Between SA & Tasmania we can see exactly how bad Labor governments, wagged by their Green tail, can be.

It is a pity Pauline is not a bit more discriminating in her selection of candidates. However while we have a twit like Turnbull in the lodge, courtesy of wet Liberals, she is our only hope. I just hope she is tough enough to stand up to the green blob abuse.

RobLePage: shows the contempt they have for the Australian voters.

No, only to the Socialists, Greens, etc, etc. As it should be.

Hasbeen,

You won't be coming to see us any time soon, then?

What you don't seem know is that we have had a gerrymander in SA that has made it impossible for anyone except Labor to get into government, and stay there long enough to do anything, since Tom Playford's days. The Liberals have been winning over 50% of the vote for some time now , but staying in opposition, because Labor has had the AEC on its side with boundaries. At the next election it seems that the Liberals have a chance because the boundary changes have worked their way this time.

Not that a Liberal win will make much difference, in my opinion. The current leader is not worth a pinch of the proverbial. He is saying absolutely nothing about reversing the rewnable lunacy; and he doesn't have anything else going for him. Come to think of it, the Liberals haven't had a decent leader since Tom Playford, and there doesn't seem to be one on the horizon. Similar to the feds. A Liberal leader worth anything would have been promising to overturn the renewable nonsense every day of the week, but Steven Marshall is not doing this; instead, he whines about how bad Weatherill and Co are, but gives no indication that he and his tired old time-servers would be any better.

As well, there are enough of us still living in poor old SA to remember that a Liberal Premier, John Olsen, was the fool who sold off ETSA to the Chinese with a 'promise' of cheaper power.

Perhaps South Australians, sick and tired after 16 years of Labor, will give Labor the boot next time; but it will only be a well-deserved punishment. South Australia is unlikely to be any better off.

I suppose I should feel sorry for you ttbn, but while your lot keep trying to pinch all the eastern states water for your man made water sky lake down there, it is a bit hard.

Labor did the same thing here in Qld ttbn. Then the demographics of farm labour changed, & the Labors gerrymander is what kept old Joh in power all those years.

I didn't have all that much time for old Joh, but I used to laugh myself to sleep sometimes, after another Labor polly had complained bitterly on the late night ABC news about the gerrymander.

May I suggest you be one of the smart rats, & desert the sinking ship that SA really is, before it's too late, & any investment you have there becomes worthless.

The Barrier Reef is nice this time of year.

There's an interesting article by Andrew Bolt in his
column today (Monday, 13th Feb. 2017).

Google - "Andrew Bolt - "Lesser evil is not good
enough."

It's worth a read.

or alternatively -

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/opinion/andrew-bolt/malcolm-turnbull-portraying-himself-as-a-lesser-evil-than-bill-shorten-is-not-good-enough/news-story/142ee18d9231e29a0cc5f6a2dadffe98

You might have to be a subscriber to read it.
Googling may be better.

"The Barrier Reef is nice this time of year" Hassy the conservatives have been trying to trash the Great Barrier Reef for years with over development and mineral exploitation. Were you not a part of all that, don't tell me you have gone Green!

The more that the Libcons disparage renewable energy and the more outages we have to suffer, the more likely we are to go "off grid".
They are doing the renewable power industry a favour with their blocking of solar farms and wind turbines.
More people are putting in a batteries to provide 24/7 power and going off grid.
The "old" power supply industry will find it is a stranded asset one day and only have them selves to blame.
While there was a scarcity of wind in SA in the last blackout, the sun was blazing down providing more than enough power to run the State. The missing ingredient was storage, either by battery or with thermal power, molten salt.
Yes there will be days when there is not enough sun but a backup diesel generator only has to run for a few hours to recharge the batteries.
Mine runs on biodiesel.

What’s good for the goose
· February 15, 2017 by: Richard O’Brien
· https://theaimn.com/whats-good-goose/
Malcolm Turnbull continues to erroneously blame South Australia’s use of renewable energy for power failures.
The man who in 2010 said that Australia needed to move to “a situation where all or almost all of our energy comes from zero or very near zero-emission sources” now describes proponents of renewables as “drunk on left ideology on energy”.
These days Malcolm Turnbull is all about addressing the impact of carbon emissions by investing public money in clean coal.
Some might cast Turnbull as an incipit sellout to the fossil fuel industry who now hates renewable energy, but that’s only half true.
It is wrong to assume that Turnbull shares his coal-stroking compatriots’ phobia of clean energy. The man who last week attempted to revive his political fortunes by calling Bill Shorten a “hypocrite” is more than happy to get a little drunk on left ideology on renewables, at least when it comes to himself.
Last year the PM upgraded the solar panels on his Point Piper harbourside mansion and adding a stack of batteries’ giving him a total of 14.5 kilowatts worth of solar panels and 14 hours of battery power. With more heatwaves and power shortages to come, this should ensure the Turnbulls remain in air-conditioned comfort.
So it turns out Turnbull is prepared to back renewables for one Australian family. And who can blame him for going off grid? It’s not like he can rely on his government to fix the problem.

Well all the fuss a bit of coal made !
Imagine if he held up a piece of uranium !
The greens and labour would all have been killed in the rush for the door !

I have held a small piece of depleted uranium in my hand. About 6cm by 4 cm.
It is amazing how heavy it is, and I do not glow in the dark !
