YAVORIV, Ukraine - The relationship between the California National Guard and Ukraine is only two years younger than modern Ukraine. Their State Partnership Program began in 1993 with some of the original partnerships that were initiated following the collapse of the Soviet Union, explained California Army National Guard Commander Maj. Gen. Lawrence Haskins.

Here's a couple of minutes I'll never get back.

Nick,

So, what mighty leap of cause and effect are you expecting us to make ? That California supports the right of Ukraine to self-determination ? That Scharzenegger is militaristic ?

Jerry Brown is California's Governor now, a Leftist. Scharzenegger has been gone for some time. Not's that it's a big deal, but you could clear up what you want us to believe.

It began as an odd story about bonuses , then news items by chance fell into line. News clips often blur into bad movie scenes. Putin / Trump / Schwarzeneggar are in the same fact /fiction special effects
smash hit.

Thanks Nick,

I'm glad that at least somebody is sticking up for an independent Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.

Russian aggression ? In the borderlands between Russia and Ukraine ? Have Ukrainian-funded troops and agents seized chunks of Russian territory ? Or is it the other way around ?

On the other hand, Crimea, seized by Russia in 2014, still gets its water and electricity supply from Ukraine.

Ukraine is a free, independent country. It is no longer part of a Russian Empire. Similarly, the Baltic countries, next on Putin's list. I hope they will be defended too by other independent countries with courage.

Get used to it. Don't believe everything you see on RT, Nick.

Joe.

Not sure where you come from Joe but I suspect its not earth, unless of course your paid to post on here by somebody.

You might have noticed that the US has dumped the Ukraine because they realised they had grabbed a broken state run by very low class thugs.

From what I have read though, it seems they are still clinging to ever fading hopes that they can prevent the Trump inauguration so they are using anything they can get hold of including Ukraine in he forlorn hope they are successful in getting a war going with Russia before the 20 January.

Hi Referundemdrivensocienty,

So what did I write which was incorrect ? Even if the Ukraine WAS/WERE run by very low-class thugs, the facts remain: which country invaded which other country, Russia or Ukraine ? Who supplies the Crimea with power and water ? If the Ukrainians were thugs, why haven't they turned them off, or - under secret US direction, poisoned the water at least ?

Are you suggesting that Russia has a right to invade Ukraine because (choose at your will):

(a) because it is run by very low-class thugs;

(b) it has attacked peaceful Russia in ways we haven't heard about because of the anti-RT, pro-US, media;

(c) as a former territory of the Tsarist/Bolshevik/socialist empire, nicknamed 'Little Russia' after all, it is a de facto dependency of Russia, a natural part of Russia's sphere of influence, and is really only semi-sovereign, and always will be.

Perhaps you have other rationales. Of course, I realise that something that Russia should be allowed to do is off-limits to the US, such as its invasion of Iraq for reasons similar to (a) above. Nobody is, or ever has been, as evil as the US. Got it. And after all, Russia is not invading the Ukraine in order to bring democracy to it, since Russia itself has never had any - merely to bring it back into its natural relationship with Russia.

But I'd leave that sort of propaganda to RT if I were you :)

Joe
