This is not about some sporting match but an observation that kangaroos and wallabies are a greater menace to Australians than are sharks.

Perhaps the Government could spend some money erecting fences to keep their animals off our roads and decrease the number of their animals that are involved in collisions with motor cars.
Deaths of, and injuries to, motorists have happened and are likely to increase.

For some revealing statistics just visit Google.

When it comes to animal culls stupidity and ignorance rule the roost.
We could reduce the roo and wallaby population by 90% in a couple of years which would provide work for many, supply half of Africa and the middle East with high quality meat protein and return useful grazing land to the beef and cattle industry.
The numbers would bred up very quickly and the project would become self sustaining
However like many useful and necessary problem solutions the "GREENIES" stand in the way like brick walls sucking public sentiment and money based on completely false premises.
We give aboriginal rangers guns and vehicles to maintain sustainability in the National Parks but there is never an outcry about what and when and where they shoot their weapons.
It is time that governments stopped buckling under to minority groups and stand up for the general populace.
Of course we need to cull the shark populations. Sharks are not stupid. Once they realize that the easy feeding/hunting of humans is being closed off by culling they will head back out to sea and stay there.
Of course we need to cull the crocodile populations. When I was a kid in Cairns the damn things used to wander the streets at night looking for dogs to eat. The smart dogs slept at the top of the queenslander back steps.
It is almost like that again today.
The damn things are at every beach and fishing hole.
Government must move to protect the public first.
Up here we are looking forward to Pauline Hanson grabbing the balance of power.
She will do something positive.

Pauline Hanson once said to me she wondered why she was having trouble buying fish.
The conversation was about fish depletion and seafood dependent islander malnutrition and consequences due to fish depletion, including increase in NCD, including diabetes II and maternal mortality.
I understood PH to be referring to fish now being too expensive to buy and cook and be able to sell at an affordable price to make a profit.

Sharks can no longer get enough food either.
Reasons for sharks being hungry can surely be understood from the two cont't items I just posted here:

I suggest the word ark (Moses building an ark to house god) being part of the word in shark, somewhat adds religious messages into popular media news stories. That those never mentioned establishment are enjoying the humour of constantly mentioning sharks, that sharks are predators similar to lions. That water is another truly Darwinism dimension humans ventures into.

Another reason might be that sharks cause very few human deaths, that obsessing about sharks is fairly good, believable propaganda to people who go swimming at beaches.

People driving to beaches for a swim are probably more likely to die in a motor vehicle accident than to be bitten by a shark.

While government authorities are seen as concerned about shark attacks, the many other unresolved cause for suicide deaths can be ignored, I more than speculate, establishment sees such deaths as natural selection Darwinism god.
