The OC as Governor General knows the Defence Forces Disciplinary Act.
The Disciplinary Officer could award basic punishment of restriction of privileges (ROP) for a few days, loss of leave or a reprimand.
As the Government Whip is ineffective then abandoning the back benches in the face of Labor's attacks brings down military discipline and about time too.

While we are suffering the weakest and wettest Coalition government ever, lead by a total dud, we should remember that the Liberal party has always seen politics as a game for gentlemen, whereas the Left is out to win at any cost. Unless the Coalition fights fire with fire it will be left well behind in the increasingly left-totalitarian world.

We will always have politicians from either side of politics not meeting the expectations of some...

More "checks and balances" in the system to get them working harder and sooner after an election perhaps?

It's either that or start having machines and computers making executive decisions about government for us. Would we like that?

That last question is very profound indeed...

Computer parliament is the way to go. Punch in economic equations, iron ore price, bank fee scales, price of fish and suicide bombs with anti-malware China firewall and adjust up for mateship and new rental construction.

If we had had a computer run government we would still have money in the bank and as it would have no conscience, it would not have fallen for the do-gooders.

We now have what is referred to as a 'liberal wet government' which is as close to labor as they can be without being labor.

Its time for Abbott to make a move on this dud, and either replace him, or should he loose, resign so he doesn't go down with the sinking ship. I only voted for the libs in the hope they would dump Turnbull.

Either they go down this path, or we will be back at the polls in no time flat, which in my view, would see a larger stake taken by the likes of Hanson and Hinch.

What ever happens we deserve far better than the shambles we have now.

If it looks like a bribe it probably is.

A Chinese company gave $3.6 million to Labor while bidding for government work – and it’s totally legal

In 2012-13, Zhongfu donated the money while its subsidiary, Kimberley Agricultural Investments, was bidding to develop the second stage of the Ord Irrigation Scheme.

This was one of Australia’s largest-ever greenfield agricultural projects. State Labor and federal Coalition politicians lambasted the controversial deal at the time as selling off the farm and as a threat to Australia’s national food security.

It has been revealed this week that Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) head Duncan Lewis had in 2014 briefed the major parties about the security risks of taking donations from some Chinese companies. They were told the Chinese government had been seeking to exert influence through donations given by linked companies. It is not known if Zhongfu was one of the companies named.

The Ord Irrigation Scheme is a $510 million joint Western Australian and federal government project to develop the Kimberley region. Under the terms of the deal, Shanghai Zhongfu Group agreed to invest $700 million in developing a 33,000-acre site to grow sugar and related products for export to China.

In return, Shanghai Zhongfu Group received $1 a year for 50-year leases, and a government commitment to provide supporting infrastructure, such as irrigation channels and roads.
