Some say carbon tax and high prices will stop consumption and pollution.
Others prefer to have a per-person national consumption limit, tradeable on the exchange.
Some ask how do high prices and taxes stop pollution when we export huge quantities of polluting coal overseas?
Others say we could cut our consumption by being careful but we don’t switch of power .
Some say high petrol prices have not cut petrol consumption.

Well I will join you here voterland if not on your site.
Carbon pricing, and it will come as a shock to some, is to drive change not tax us more.
That cost is a needed one.
To contain man made climate change.
And it WILL be execpted practice in most of the world in the next two decades.
But may not be enough to stop some very bad effects of CC.

Hey Belly, I see you have jumped onto the band wagon and carry on with the NOW politically correct term of "CC",...climate change eh.

Only a few years ago the acolytes called it GLOBAL WARMING, remember that. But that term magically disappeared and morphed into CLIMATE CHANGE when the numbers in the global warming "model" was proved and admitted to be a deception of manipulated numbers by climate scientists looking for money.

In the past few years we have had constant rain which has filled our Warragamba dam to near capacity. Floods that saw the end of water restrictions for Brizzy and the Gold Coast, and the farmers looking forward to a decent crop this year, if the rain does not cut the yield before harvest.

Yesterday Canberra had an overnight minimum of 1 degree seven days into summer, and it was nippy in Sydney as well.

The fraud that is the Garnaut Climate Change Review—Update 2011 released a series of papers in February and March 2011 addressing developments across a range of areas including:

•climate change science and impacts,
•international mitigation progress,
•carbon pricing,
•land,
•innovation, and
•the electricity sector.

Yet the good fraudster Garnaut is happy to live next to a waterway that will see his property inundated with a meter of water anytime now. I understand his neighbours are watching out for a "for sale" sign on his property, but no sign yet.....

Do you agree that ocean temperatures are rising.
I don't see where the difference is Global warming or Climate change.
Deny as much as you like, all i know is we have to change our ways, or we will be in big bother.
More intense weather patterns, It's hard to say nothing is changing.

Of course the temperature is rising !
It has being doing that since early 1700s since a period called the
Maunder Minimum ended.
They used to have a festival on the Thames river every year when it
was frozen over until the Maunder Minimum ended.

The sea level has risen a very small amount going by the tide mark at
Port Arthur, certainly less than computer projections.

What is certain is that the government is in panic mode as they forced
some of the electricity price rises with the co2 tax so as to alter
our behaviour, then compensated us for the increase, and now they
want to install smart meters so that we will pay less for our power
when the meters will increase the power bills anyway !

Does anyone really believe that installing smart meters will save us
momey when the purpose of the meter is to charge us more when we use
the most power ?

I mean really ! Or is this just another Julia lie ?
