Come the next referendum there is a critical question for all of us who swear by a Monday off: will we keep our sacred Queen’s Birthday holiday?

I'm with poet Les Murray - "public holiday in perpetuity" has a nice ring to it. There must be frantic Uni students all over Victoria blessing Her Majesty (or her Dad) for the opportunity of putting finishing touches to their Semester One assignments. Very nicely written article by Mr O'Dwyer by the way. Cheers.

It's my birthday today, I always regard the early-June holiday as being in my honour, any anti-monarchists are free to celebrate in my name if they wish.
