India’s reverse diaspora : Comments

Indian immigrants in the West increasingly view Bangalore as a frontier for opportunity.

A highly readable article.

Interesting to know whether it was written before the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Terrorism goes unmentioned in the article but there are an average of 5 major (more than 20 people killed per attack) terrorist attacks a year in India. A feeling of insecurity may exist there.

Still, India has more in common culturally with Australia than China. India probably has around 100 millions fluent English speakers and it is a huge healthy democracy. Its technical advancement also includes space research and satellite launches. It successfully launched a probe a few weeks ago to start mapping the Moon.

As well as Bangalore and other Indian IT centres mentioned in the article Dehli and Mumbai would have IT industries larger than Australia's.

Australia and India may be close one day.
