Great article Stuart. You are correct in saying that BCC and the State have kept themselves ignorant of the peak oil issue when planning for TransApex. Now is definitely the time to bring forward all the rail projects in the State infrastructure plan and cancel the risky road projects. The Queensland Greens have proposed a $3.1 billion light rail system to cover a lot of Brisbane. $3 billion = 105km of light rail versus 4.5km of tunnel. http://www.greenupbrisbane.net/2007/10/greens-launch-b.html#more
