Malaysia’s Islamic schools face festering problems : Comments

By Murray Hunter, published 8/7/2019

The fact that they are largely unregulated is allowing problems to fester, including unsafe conditions, exposure to extremist teachings and especially child sexual abuse by ustazes, or teachers.

Pulpit-pounding clerics, who insist that students go to exclusively Islamic schools that are impenetrable (sorry the obvious sexual pun was unintended) closed shops that foster child sexual abuse?

Where children not to be indoctrinated by pedantic absolutism and Islam? (One and the same thing?)

Then they could be allowed to take their religious teaching and belief system outside of normal school hours, from their parents and in their mosques!?

Schools could be government controlled secular organisations that teach kids rather than brainwash them to believe their teachers can do no harm and have absolute authority!

Leaving things as they are and as they stand? Is a recipe for far more of the same and increasingly damaged children, growing up with massive, untreatable psychological scars!

And should an aggrieved molested student report the abuse to their parents? May find that the result is, physical abuse from disbelieving parents who see that their child is wicked for inventing such horrible wicked lies!?

Maybe the Malaysian tyrant sees no problem? Given birds of a feather and all that? Perhaps? Maybe? Could it be?

If the cap fits?
