Marks, in slanting the emphasis towards generating revenue, ignores the actual practice of meaningful, investigative journalism.

You don’t know what you are talking about. Investigative journalism died years ago and is nothing new.
Just maybe if it came back the listeners/watchers and readers may return to watching tv, listening to proper radio and reading newspapers for reasonable and educated information. With the garbage currently produced there are better things to do than watch, listen or read.

The SMH was an in-house newsletter for the inner-west, targeting those with soft hands (and heads). There was more news in the local rag.

I wouldn't use it if it was the only paper on a string; the parasitism of its preachings might cause a nasty rash.
