An open letter to Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 11/6/2018

All this bloody mayhem could have been avoided had you concluded long ago that the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict rests on ending all violence and no longer perpetuating demands such as the right of return.

While any reasonable man would agree wholeheartedly with everything written this letter, those to whom it is addressed to, clearly do not!

This conflict will end when all that is left are a few old, toothless, blind widows tapping their way around, trying to find and kill the enemy! Or a sea of glass that buries the guilty and the innocent alike?
Regretfully, Alan B.

That's very artistic Al....but not true. Israel is there for keeps. They posses all the nuclear capability to ensure the tenure, and will also ensure "nil to none" opposition from the Arabs. Israel is highly advanced on the Arab states, in everything necessary to survival. Russia would be the only threat. Any silly move by them will involve the US.

The US taxpayer subsidises every Israeli to the tune of over $US20k each PA. not to mention US foreign aid, through non-repayable loans, etc etc.

Israel is the largest semi-autonomous military base in the world!

Praise be to the God of justice, (helped along with a large portion of military might, and the US dollar).

Seems to me the state of Israel under its present government is increasingly being recognised as Criminal Apartheid Zionist Settler State in Occupied Palestine. The more they get away with, the more they take from Palestinians so continued strong resistance and exposure of Israeli excesses and atrocities is very important. The Zionists are largely not even Jews whose ancestors lived in Palestine. Many are lighter skinned ones from the rogue Kingdom of Khazaria that existed around 1,000 years ago north and east of the Black Sea. In fact saw a report recently that around a third of the current population of Israel consists of Jews who relatively recently came from Russia.

Have also seen reports that many Jews in Israel would like to emigrate if they could readily find a better place to live. Many would not like the toxic environment where Palestinians can only be kept subordinate by force. Meanwhile, it seems some Zionists, including Netanyahu like to covertly encourage "Antisemitism" in other countries to try and encourage more immigration of Jews - especially wealthy ones to Israel.

Lately the world has changed with much more ready dissemination of news and views other than the largely Zionist controlled Western Mainstream media. Injustices and atrocities have occurred in Palestine ever since the British promise to set up a Jewish homeland there in exchange for Zionist support of the USA participating on the Allied side in World War 1. Now it seems the more many people find out about Israel, the less they support it. Note some Jews -including Orthodox religious ones are among the strongest opponents of a Jewish state. Note how the BDS movement is gaining support despite attempts of politicians supported by Zionists to stop it. Also, now hopefully awareness of the USS Liberty incident of 1967 will become widely recognised. An all time classic on how Zionists will backstab those who had helped them and thought they were friends if think they can get away with it.

Dear Alon,

I the Gazans have rolled over and accepted illegal iraeli settlements within its midst then Gaza would look like the West Bank does now. Like a diseased kidney with soul destroying checkpoints, water theft, land theft and building demolitions.

Tell me how has relative peace and compliance by those in the West Bank benefited them?

Answer me those questions and we can then look at criticising Hamas appropriately

Israel is a failed political State, but a very successful strategic one.

My words are Semi-autonomous. There are Muslims and Christains enlisted in the Israeli military. Israel funds Christian schools with mainly Muslim students. Strategic!

SteeleRedux.
What on earth are you talking about ?
“Gazans have rolled over and accepted illegal iraeli settlements within its midst”

First of all let me get this into your head. Israel withdrew unilaterally from Gaza in 2005.

What illegal Israeli ( you really must learn to spell) settlements?
No such thing.

The Oslo I Accord was signed in Washington, in 1993; with the Oslo II Accord, signed in Taba, Egypt, in 1995. Oslo peace accords, which Abbas’s predecessor, Yasir Arafat, signed in 1993 and 1995 with Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli leader.

The accords created the Palestinian Authority as a provisional government, and laid out a five-year timetable for resolving all areas of conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

The accords divided Judaea and Samaria into three sections:
Area A, the major cities where Palestinians were to have full control;

Area B, where Israel would be in charge of security while Palestinians handled civilian matters;

Area C, under full Israeli control. This is where the Israeli communities have been built, all very legally.

Palestinian Authority was given some limited powers and responsibilities in the Areas A and B and a prospect of negotiations on a final settlement based on Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.

Note: Abbas is now in the 13th year of a 5 year presidency.
