A narrow victory over political correctness : Comments

The Greens and their Socialist allies believe that people are far too stupid to decide for themselves what they might eat.

Yep, and now they're trying to prevent the rise of the neo-medieval christian superstate in central Europe that everyone's so excited about. Why can't they leave people alone.

Bah humbug, bird's fur and horse feathers.

Look around and every day we see folk/numbskulls that must be protected from their rank stupidity, which hardly ever is, only confined to self harm!

Be it the sucker welded onto the end of a noxious fag, the waddler with a bagful of sugary drinks on one arm and salt laden garbage on the other. The pokie addict spinning away his family's only home, or the habitual drunk pissing it against a wall! Or an ice addict going off his or her brain and attacking folk trying to help.

For far too long, we have sat silent as the hedonists just ignored the greater good in favour of a cheap thrill or the latest feel good fad! [Aunty, the smoke is getting right in my face and I'm an asthma sufferer! Well move your face moron.]

People who regularly ,critique the nanny state, are all to often supported by it, along with seemingly extravagant lifestyles?

When are posters going to get sick of referring to an old sit-com that, like the old 'Carry On' movies, would not even raise a smile these days. Readers are certainly sick of reading about it. There is no reason to compare the modern, corrupt, incompetent politics with comedy.

The EU is certainly no comedy. The UE's aim was never to represent the peoples of Europe, but to constrain popular sovereignty and democracy. The European Union is not Europe. It is anti-an democratic union of Europe's elites.

We Australians should be very glad that we were spared the lunatic Rudd's desire to set up something similar to the EU between us and Asia.

Graham Richardson resorted to political correctness in today's Oz by calling for a tax on sugar to beat obesity, on the grounds that several jurisdictions including the UK have done so, but did not produce any stats to prove the effectiveness of the tax.

Common sense would suggest that, instead of slugging a tax on everyone, the effective solution is to promote cutting back on the amount of all foods eaten, not just sugar.

And NSW residents recently have suffered a loss over political correctness, namely, the Berejiklian government introduction of the drink-container deposit scheme, a totally unwarranted and inconvenient scheme, given the highly efficient container recycling scheme that has been operated by local councils for over 20 years.
Sadly, Gladys naively took up the politically-correct baton of the undemocratic Michael Baird, who was conned by the 'clean-up Australia' mob to introduce such a scheme

Raycom,

The new system is working for some people, yesterday at the local collection point there was a young couple with a trailer behind their car, happily feeding bottles etc., into the "Money Dispenser" from four old 44-gallon drums on said trailer.
Sure beats collecting cans for the scrap metal value!
