Man, this is a brilliant article, I'm going to study it in depth and report back!
And Lynda Carta .. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynda_Carter ... my most favourite left wing feminist pin-up included!

A bit of a stretch here? The fable of Lady Godiva is just a tale of an ordinary woman, with an indomitable will and strong character, standing up to abusive autocratic authority!

And just by riding a horse, her modesty guaranteed by long flowing locks and a calm, wind free period? No offensive connotations please!

[Even I a mere man could do that!]

And nothing in common with super strong, lightening fast, fictional fearless fighting heroes, who were able to live without airfare, fear food, fuel, fickle fools or finance!

Nothing in common whatsoever! except perhaps, never got past first base, eternal virginity?

Now if those two ladies had been able to swap places, we might have read some very different stories!?

But the woman from Snowy River let the pony have his head,
And she swung her stockwhip round and gave a cheer,
And she raced him down the mountain like a torrent down its bed,
While the others stood and watched in very fear.
She sent the flint stones flying, but the pony kept his feet,
He cleared the fallen timber in his stride,
And the woman from Snowy River never shifted in her seat—
It was grand to see that naked woman ride.

And down by Kosciusko, where white stars fairly blaze
At midnight in the cold and frosty sky,
The woman from Snowy River is a household word to-day,
And stockmen tell the story of her chilly ride.

Lynda Carter overcame alcoholism with the help of second husband Robert Altman.

So she should be regarded as a modern day heroine for that. And kudos to them both for their loyalty and family. Tough to do in that environment.

diver dan,
Just avoid the abysmal Two and a Half Men (Kutcher), where Lynda was obliged to jump Fonzies shark (see the ending). What was she thinking of, taking that sad show on?

Godiva
If there is a movie, please, PLEASE, let it be without some in-your-face woman with 'bootie' (damn but the Oz idiots have picked it up now) that competes with the horse's rear end.

What is it with the US media and those waspish waists, humungous behinds and thunderous thighs?

At least we are spared a US movie of baywatch booties hitting Normandy on DDay in a secluded reality cove wearing camouflage Gstrings and gaping shirts clearing out Nazis with stubble beards and 6pack abs . Although a girl dressed in pony-tail with slung rifle on a horse would probably get to Paris.
