This is intolerable! A truly shocking case of neglect and serial abuse of one of our most vulnerable citizens. And not just by the alleged carer, but the responsible authorities as well, give the facts alleged are substantiated?

Time the Authorities grew a set of big hairy cojones! Charged the adoptive mother and her boys! And the mother needs to be treated as the heartless callous criminal she is, stand in the dock and receive a custodial sentence, and the money repaid., even if the adoptive brother's wages/benefit need to be garnisheed If only as a salutatory lesson for similar breaches by non blood relatives, absolutely devoid of any right to do so, feathering their own nests illegally, with taxpayer funds. a properly policed A.V.O., ought also apply!

Sadly similar treatment or outcomes, like similar elder abuse, at the hands of blood relatives, may be difficult to police or end, given (money saving) automatic custodial rights? Signed away in order to save money? Which needs to end!

And often only finally exposed when frail emaciated folk wind up in E.R's as battered blood-soaked victims of the culmination of similar unchecked and unpoliced abuse?

End it even if that increases the workload of the tasked public servants, paid to provide that protection, be they allegedly indifferent police, court appointed legal representation or just the dogbodies charged with general housekeeping!

As you rightly point out, it costs as least twice as much to institutionalize (incarcerate) these folk, and as an outcome, a lose/lose one all round!

Pity election results didn't depend on resolving this and other reported issues, which not doubt would then be ameliorated/resolved overnight?

Not only must independence be restored, but guaranteed by CCTV monitored security! Stocks and public flogging would be too good for these serial abusers!

The government need to find a one time final solution to stop physical and domestic abuse,i have seen a mother abusing her son wrongfully and no sanction for it. We need to find a way to stop these.
