Strategy of force coupled with sound diplomacy : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 20/4/2017

President Trump's unexpected attack on Syria's Shayrat airbase in response to President Assad's sarin gas attack on his own citizens has changed the dynamic of Syria's civil war and potentially its eventual outcome.

Dr Ben- Meir.
If you can provide independent, verified evidence of “Assad’s sarin gas attack on his own citizens”, I will not dismiss the rest as similar propaganda. I realise this is a pointless request as you never respond to comments

Alon is probably right on several fronts but it is one of those stories that need maturing to come to the front . I personally do not like getting in front of developements. It allows rise of other things that can only be conjecture.

Dr Ben-Meir's propaganda piece (including the well-worn lie about Assad's government gassing its own people) rests on the assumption that the Yanks have a God-given right to determine how the people of the rest of the world are to govern their own countries. The most constructive role foreigners to Syria can play is helping to ensure that the Syrian people get to make these decisions as in the past - at the ballot box. Sorry, Yanks, but they might well re-elect Bashar al Assad.

For all the ridiculous deniers:

The facts stack up as follows:
1 The attacks were on rebel anti Assad forces,
2 Syrian aircraft were flying in the area at the time of attack
3 The symptoms of the poisoning were the text book reaction to Sarin.
4 Assad has admitted that he has Sarin gas
5 Sarin gas weapons require 2 liquids to be mixed to produce the gas, which needs sophisticated delivery systems that Assad possesses.

The loss of roughly 22 aircraft by the Assad regime should provide an ample deterrent against using these weapons again. This is in complete contrast to the feeble non response by Obama.
