Midsummer madness : Comments

By Michael Kile, published 23/2/2017

It must be the weather. As heatwaves and blackouts produce a perfect storm on Capitol Hill, the lamentation of climate alarmists becomes ever shriller.

New Evidence for Climate Change Mitigation by Human Sacrifice, and author of The Aztec solution to climate change.
Just about says it all.........
Do have to agree that enough human sacrifices will eventually solve the climate change problem.
The final sacrifice would have to be a suicide though.

The only madness on display here, is in the denialist camp, given a sun in a waning phase since the mid seventies, (NASA) might produce a cyclical mini ice age, but not record breaking ambient temperatures, and killer heat waves piling up on killer heat waves.

What do we need, a seven metre overnight, permenant inundation of our coastline along with seventy percent of our economy?

Before these patent imbeciles understand that their preferred coal fired/fossil fuel business model is the one killing the planet, many old folk, and before their time; and entirely innocent babies, some of whom may survive the heat induced fitting and the later Grand mal epileptic seizures, surely created by those common denominator heat stress events?

But maybe not the catastrophic wildfire events that sweep all before it; be it flora and fauna, property and people!

Some of them in harm's way and paying the ultimate price for the business model of diabolically dumb folk, with all the empathy of a barrow load of bricks! Save that the bricks may well be, demonstrably more intelligent!

more data fixing by Nasa uncovered by German Professor

'From the publicly available data, Ewert made an unbelievable discovery: Between the years 2010 and 2012 the data measured since 1881 were altered so that they showed a significant warming, especially after 1950. […] A comparison of the data from 2010 with the data of 2012 shows that NASA-GISS had altered its own datasets so that especially after WWII a clear warming appears – although it never existed.'

what a surprise!

More Russian generated fake science links won't cut it runner!

And the idea that thousands of scientists the world over are engaged in some gigantic and therefore uncontrollable conspiracy is laughable!

As always a waning (cooler) phase is invariably followed as day follows night by a waxing (hotter) event! Then we shall know the unmistakeable unavoidable truth and far too late to remediate man made climate change with solutions; with massive economic growth designed into them!

I take you and your cohort have a specific problem with that?

Alan B as we are going to die, sell me your house for ten dollars? You have nothing to lose and will gain ten bucks. It is not even worth that because the earth is doomed eh?
Of course you won't so stop squealing this nonsense.
The ABC should be advised of a fiver per cent across the board pay cut to cope with Global Warming every year. Well every year that is advertised as the warmest year ever hahahahaha!

It's only doomed because of imbeciles at the wheel!

Lever that death grip off and allow others with a better economic plan to steer, does two things, massively improves our economic prospects and decarbs our economy. Neither hurt anything, except the cash flows of our foreign masters.

Pooh poohing the idea of (carbon free power costing less than 3 cents per kilowatt hour?) And untried, is like saying it's impossible to break the three minute mile barrier, so why try? And conventional wisdom till Roger Bannister broke it.

Left to the can't do specialists, like JB, we'd still be living in caves, running our food down with a stone tied to a stick.

And while I painted a gloomy forecast. Our demise is only a certainty, if we stay on this track running at terminal velocity toward the cliff at the end of the run. Or while we still have time, turn around and head off, for us, in a vastly more prosperous direction.

And with that example, be the pathfinder economy that finds a better way for others.

If management teaches just one thing, it teaches that there is always a better way.

That being so, it's just a little premature to put your offensive words in my mouth, JBower, that say we're doomed.

An given the outrageous offer, just another economic parasite, willing to allow others to beaver away for thirty years so he can take it for a song!

And on an entirely misrepresented subterfuge/verbal? Which tells who and what you are deep down where you truly live!

Only sh!te for brains, will stand watching a tsunami hurtling toward them, frozen like rabbits in a spotlight? Others will start to take affirmative action and if timely may even survive, or perhaps prosper? But particularly if they get my homespun homily or analogy.

"At least 58 NZ glaciers advanced between 1983 and 2008." proves anthropocentric climate change is a total and complete fraud even if thousands of NZ glaciers are retreating.

"Several glaciers, notably the much-visited Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers on the West Coast, have periodically advanced, especially during the 1990s, but the scale of these advances is small when compared to 20th-century retreat. Both glaciers are currently more than 2.5 km (1.6 mi) shorter than a century ago. These large, rapidly flowing glaciers situated on steep slopes have been very reactive to small mass-balance changes. A few years of conditions favorable to glacier advance, such as more westerly winds and a resulting increase in snowfall, are rapidly echoed in a corresponding advance, followed by equally rapid retreat when those favorable conditions end. Hence glacier advance in a few locations is regarded as due to transient local weather conditions which brought more precipitation and cloudier, cooler summers since 2002." (Wikipedia entry)

Interesting, isn't it? Large glacier advances are attributed to "transient local weather conditions", even when going on since the 1990s, while glacier retreat is, allegedly, "consistent with" dangerous anthropogenic climate change.

Yet one could argue it is also consistent with cooler than expected conditions below 45SL, an 8% increase in Antarctic sea ice since 1979, cooler winters in southern Australia, snow on Clifton Beach Hobart for first time since 1986, more snow at the tip of South America and so on.

As for the "thousands of glaciers" in retreat, many of them apparently are quite small. For some reason, however, their behaviour is not attributed to "transient local weather conditions".

Alice, I believe you have never been down hill skiing or cross country skiing, you would understand then that snow has many characteristics, temperature dependent. The Inuit have many words to describe the characteristics of snow.

This might be of interest as well, a huge area of permafrost in decline. Permafrost needs constant warmth to begin to thaw, not just a hot day here or there.

Alan B, please read a bit about the "Ice Age" before you go on at me. That resulted in ice two miles thick around top of the Northern hemisphere but I am not sure of the South?
We have had many periods of hot and cold and volcano's spew far more CO2 into the atmosphere that humans ever have.
This is nonsense. We never get the real cost of solar? Just ask how much did it cost, how long will it last and how much electricity it will generate? Then the answers it cost very little, it will last forever and it generates lots of electricity. Of course it will also keep getting cheaper which is why it need lots of subsidy money.
