Trump could fuel a nuclear energy boom in 2017 : Comments

By James Stafford, published 9/12/2016

While there have been some oversupply issues keeping uranium prices down, the bigger problem has been negative sentiment rather than real fundamentals, but the Trump presidency will see through that.

Come gather around thorium
Wherever uranium 233
Irradiated by neutrons
Around you have grown,
And accept Thorium lymphoreticular Thyrotoxicosis
You'll be drenched to the bone
And if your Brahmos II is worth saving
Then control terminal flight or you'll sink like a stone
For hypersonic mach 7 they are a-changing.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed Don's call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's the battle outside raging
It'll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changing.

"China flew a long-range bomber capable of carrying nuclear weapons over the South China Sea in recent days, according to US officials... say is a message to President-elect Donald Trump, Fox News reported on Friday.

This is at about 400km from the equator. Normally a state claiming Tibet and Taiwan and Indonesian islands would be an "empire".

Bit of a non-story.

Any of China's air force aircraft (and US aircraft) are nuclear "capable" - even trainers.

Many nuclear weapons have been made that are less than 55kg eg. 155mm artillery shells (nuclear) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W48

The Wright brothers plane was nuclear capable then. But this century the US is vulnerable.
"China has successfully completed a seventh flight test of its new hypersonic glide vehicle last week in its northern central Shanxi province, according to an article on People’s Daily Online.

The “DF-ZF” glider can travel at speeds between Mach 5 and Mach 10, which is 5 to 10 times the speed of sound.

The Chinese news site reported that U.S. intelligence fears that Beijing may use DF-ZF to “deliver nuclear weapons bypassing even the most complex of missile defense systems,” citing an article in the Washington Free Beacon.

The U.S. Air Force has made some progress ..

The service in 2013 conducted its fourth and longest flight of the so-called X-51 WaveRider. After separating from a rocket launched beneath the wing of a B-52 bomber, the hypersonic vehicle built by Boeing Co. climbed to 60,000 feet, accelerated to Mach 5.1.."

". The fact is that this year, they are planning to carry out the first live testing of the Brahmos air-based missiles that were designed just for the Su-30MKI fighter jets. ..Mach 7 in 2017."
