Sanity has gone out the window.

The comments are absolute twaddle; no scientist, whether a climate contrarian or climate scientist would write such rubbish as you quoted.

The maximum sea ice extent is recorded sometime in April each year and the minimum in September. We have about a year to wait to get new results for the minimum sea ice extent. It is a little over a fortnight since the minimum sea ice extent for 2016 was established.
