By Binoy Kampmark, published 5/9/2016

The oldest political trick of a leader in domestic strife is to emphasise the unholy nature of a threat from without.

While the observations are essentially correct, the just don't apply to the example cited, which is very broad brush, square peg in a round hole false premise!

I think that ISIS has far more effectively done the advertising than the government. Every muslim sociopath that would previously been adorning the cells of Longbay, are now encouraged to get their 70 virgins by committing an act of senseless violence.

That most of these idiots were mentally deranged (pretty much a prerequisite for senseless violence) does not diminish the responsibility of ISIS in pushing these morons over the edge.

Forty years ago the PLO bombed planes which meant Qantas and crop-dusting planes at Yackandandah carried 1/2 inch machine guns and the RAAF carpet bombed the West Bank Palestinians . Putin bombed Australians in a Malaysian plane in Ukraine and was lucky not to have an Anzac tank parade through Moscow . Man Monis killed 1, NSW Police killed 1. Cigarettes kill and give tax cash flow. Tobacco leaf comes from Oz and crop-dusting planes will be in dog-fights with RAAF. Also tobacco is imported from New Guinea and Britain ( which has 2 shiny new aircraft carriers , prime targets for anti-terror tobacco strikes
as UK is a threat to NATO).

Funny how everything infecting the rest of the world always manages to infect Australia too. Funny also how everything the US does we must do to.

all this is spontaneous too you know, not one bit of it is planned or organised even though the US govt has admitted at various times, that they plan and organise these sorts of things in various countries to get certain leaders out of the way who have outlived their usefulness.

Australia's left wing Liberal Prime Minister did misjudge the mood of the majority of Liberal voters, Binoy, in the same way that left wingers like you are misjudging the mood of the entire electorate. If you want to pretend that a resurgent Islam is no threat to the secular west, then even some of your lefty mates will be looking askance at you for that one. The attacks in Paris was specifically targeting your own left wing, anti western cheer squad.

There are now 19 men rotting in Australian prisons for plotting to mass murder Australians, and gee, guess what? All of them are Muslims. There have now been three fatal incidents involving "Australian" Muslims, 150 of the sods are fighting for ISIS, 400 have been prevented from going, and according to Muslim imam's "thousands" more want to go on Jihad. And you claim that there is no problem? You better hope that the public has short memories when the first bomb goes off in Sydney or Melbourne (hopefully, it will be Canberra), so that you can continue to pretend to be an infallible prophet of multiculturalism.

Now, you seem to be getting all outraged at the fact that the Australian Air Force is now dropping bombs on "Australians", something which is technically illegal. Well you see, Binoy, before we were so stupid as to import people into this country who wanted to mass murder Australians, we did not need to have laws like that. But in this multicultural utopia that you want, we have had to change our laws to reflect the reality that we are importing immigrants who's religion demands that they make war on us.

Of course, as an imported foreigner yourself, or one from an imported foreign family, you could have done the cause of multiculturalism some good by denouncing the "Australian" Muslim terrorists and supporting the Prime Minister's call to arms. But Turnbull is white, and the terrorists are brown, and they prefer to kill white people anyway, so naturally you will cry over the terrorists and claim that the dastardly whites are the problem.

Those who have kept an eye on news sources from Russia, Iran and Syria and alternate ones from Western countries, especially the USA realise Islamic terrorism has largely been created and supported by Western countries, particularly USA for use as proxy mercenaries to further covert agendas of their banksters, corporations and military industrial complex. What they want in the Middle East is small fragmented states with puppet governments that take orders from Washington. Not like Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, who is obviously popular with his own people and tries to act in their interest.

The USA, Saudi Arabia and Qatar especially have been attempting "regime change" largely because the recognised government of Syria will not allow them to build a pipeline from south to north across Syria to carry gas to Europe via Turkey. Even worse to them, the government has favourably considered an east to west pipeline across Syria to carry Iranian or Russian gas to Europe, which weatern interests would not control.

Have seen a good analogy of how the likes of the USA often behaves. They covertly set fire to your house. Then come racing around pretending to fight the fire. However, they are mainly there to see what they can loot and set up opportunity for further theft. The Russians helping the Syrian government exposed that the USA and its coalition partners were not serious about fighting the majority of Islamic terrorists.

Also, remember countries having military personnel in Syria without authorisation from the Syrian government or the United Nations Security Council is against international law.
