Palestine: Quartet and two-state solution sink into political oblivion : Comments

By David Singer, published 11/7/2016

Such acts of recognition by the international community, over Israel's strident objections, have hardened Palestinian demands and expectations that their goals can be achieved without negotiations requiring any concessions to Israel.

So...you want Israel, Jordan and Egypt to carve up the pathetic rump of a state that Israel has already gutted. Just get a ruler and draw lines I suppose like was done to Africa and stuff what the Palestinians would like. No prizes for guessing who would take what they already have and all the other useful bits with no complaints from the other two who'd settle for a deal not to be invaded - as if the Israelis would honour such an agreement. What a farce. What a tragic farce, so similar to how they got control of Germany. Shouldn't Syria and Lebanon also have a piece of the cake? Ha! As if.

Yburpg,

Invaded ? The Israelis handed over the Sinai to Egypt, and the Gaza Strip to the PLO. Back in 1967, when the Arab Countries were about to invade, the Israeli armed forces kicked their arses and, as it was entitled to do under international law, seized territory from which the Arab invasion was due to be launched, from Egypt (now handed back), Jordan (offered but refused) and Syria.

With fifty thousand Hezbollah rockets aimed at them, and the constant threat of new rocket assaults from Gaza by HAMAS, it's no wonder that Israel would be wary of handing back any further territory to would-be invaders.

And what do you mean by " .... so similar to how they got control of Germany." Did I miss something ? When did the Israelis get control of Germany ? Ah, you mean 'Jews' ? Well, there you go.
