Turnbull's political philosophy : Comments

By Max Atkinson, published 11/12/2015

'You know, there are taxi drivers in this city that work much longer hours than anyone does here and they don'tearn very much at all.' So, the truth is, we don't really deserve our good fortune.

If having brains is an unfair advantage, then why don't animals receive the same income as people?

---

"if the freedom to choose one's path in life is important,..."

This is an exaggerated generalisation. The seeming importance of this freedom to choose one's path is derived from:
1) It allows one to choose good over evil.
2) No earthly authority can tell categorically and unmistakably whether another's particular action is good or evil, thus nobody is to block another's path, in case they, even inadvertently, block their very path of righteousness.

As the path of goodness is already open before everyone and in every situation, there is neither need nor duty for others to add new (and often confusing) options.

Just how many pairs of rose coloured glasses do you have to wear Max, to get Turnbull to stop looking like a smelly turd, & start looking like what you have described.

You wouldn't be completely blind, or at least one eyed would you old mate. Anyone who can mention Turnbull & Values in the same article has a perception problem.

Dear Max, Kevin Polly Waffle Turnbull is as close to pure evil as anybody in the land of OZ. Your knowledge of politics is extraordinarily naive.
The Liberal party claims to represent Australian businessmen & betrays them EVERY time.
The Labor party claims to represent Australian workers & betrays them EVERY time.
The National party claims to represent Australian farmers & betrays them EVERY time.
The watermelons claim to protect the environment & destroy it EVERY time.

Why vote for the major mistakes political parties? cut out the middle man, just sell your children, grand children & great grand children to the slave traders now. The Communist Chinese & Muslims are lined up waiting to buy slaves now, but the price will be lowering daily from now on.

As bad as Slick Willie Shorten is Malcolm Rudd is even worse. These changes to local government in NSW have nothing to do with getting at Clover Moore & everything to do with turning the Sydney City Council into another branch office of the City of London. Poverty creation is what the Liberal, Labor, National & Green parties ALL do TOGETHER, in bed with each other in Canberra.

enlightened, conservative, protesting Christians = good.

Everybody else = a different brand name of evil.

NO AUSTRALIAN CHILD WILL BE SAFE UNTIL EVERY MUSLIM & COMMUNIST HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED & DEPORTED, JAILED FOR LIFE OR KILLED.

Yuyutsu, if you are saying that EVERYTHING & EVERYONE is either good or evil then i agree.

Hasbeen, too true,

Turnbull is a classic "utility monster". The taxi driver analogy proves it. How horrid, we must be filthy rich, says Malcolm's argument, when so much less utility is afforded the humble taxi driver, who contributes equal energy to the pool of happiness!
In fact, Turnbull (as opposed to Hockey), struggles with a conscience. That is a dangerous ruler!

Any confirmation of that Turnbull anecdote about the taxi driver? Or is the other party dead?

Not that I doubt Turnbull, it is just that self-flattering stories told publicly, particularly those that place the teller on a moral pinnacle, do tend to trigger the BS detector, sending it into the red zone.

Hmmm, he is a banker and a politician too..

He knifed that dangerous Abbott though, so he must be telling the truth. That is, until the meeja and commentariat turn on him too.

Yes Yuyustu, and as for (return bill) Turnbull; one needs to factor in serendipity, and an ability to use other folks money without qualm to make your own, neither which can be said to be earned nor deserved, when compared with real earned by the sweat of the brow or personal endeavor/effort income!

And let's face it, some investment/tax lawyers/merchant bankers clearly overvalue their worth/skill set; and or, pad the bill we mugs out here in mugsville are asked to pay?

That said, I believe the man might have some visionary ideas, even if he had to borrow them?

Abbott had to be stopped, he was out of control. He wanted to be a one man govt; you know what that means.
The same people can not come to grips that Abbott was beyond any sort of a PM. Birds of a feather as they say. The liberal party is not for Conservatives. Get your own party and stop the infiltration.
Turnbull is in control , employment is declining, consumer confidence is the best it has been for 2 years. So what does that tell you, not much you say well maybe because it has to do with Abbott getting sacked in spectacular fashion. Your leanings do not reflect those of the rest of AU and neither did Abbott’s.
The philosophy of crap has been resolved, we have a world wide fossil fuel reduction strategy. All to the good. We are setting up for a productive 2016 and beyond. The era of chaos and uncertainty is behind us we are headed for even greater heights than ever before.

I read something recently which relates to part of this article.
It seems that the middle class in the US is disappearing.
This I gather has been concluded from tax returns.
Wages have declined mainly in the middle range and many more people
are on the lower pay scales. The people on the highest pay levels have
increased but the average pay in the highest group has also increased
implying that a smaller percentage are getting more of the money.

If this is starting to happen here just keep an eye on the US.
