By Ari Reid, published 14/2/2012

Some charities are damaging the work of others, in this instance in the field of sex work.

Ari,

Unfortunately sex workers have been sucked into the feminist anti-male agenda. Claims of sex trafficking are used as evidence of the need for ever more legistation to restrict, monitor and control men's sexuality. And by controlling their sexuality, feminists know they get to control their kids and their wallets too. Just ask any divorced father.

It also fits nicely into the Left wing world view that white men are the cause of all evil in the world. They don't care that 95% of sex workers in Thailand cater to a local cliental or that that local cliental isn't really concerned about whether a prostitute is 16 or 18. So long as they can demonise white men it helps their domestic agenda.

The fact that people can give moeny to these organisations to feel good about themselves only adds to the allure. It's like indulgences for the middle class only this time peddled by charlatans other than the church. After all, who would want to do something as unglamorous as stop thousands of children dying every day from dysentery when you can save a 'trafficked' child?

dane,
your words become more true as time passes with no comments. You have well & truly cornered them by the looks of it.

Words fail me to see this utter lack of response by those who always shout indignation at the slightest of accusations.
Is there no concern anymore about others unless it fits into some do-gooder theme ?

When I first heard that government was 'looking into' the charity sector, I was appalled. Couldn't keep their finger out of any arena, I thought.

Since then, however the Red Cross Bali scandal broke, courtesy of Sydney Morning Herald investigative journalists, and I have had a deep and bitter fight with the RSPCA, in which they have been observed to perpetrate all the sins enumerated here, and then some more.

In fact I used the the Grey Man story in The Australian to post as an exemplary case on anti-RSPCA sites, so what was going on could be seen to be generic, rather than just what the RSPCA got up to.

I have friends who once were members of the Salvation Army, and who left, for reasons they would not discuss, but which, they implied, was voting with their feet against misrepresentation and malpractice.

This for me remains hearsay, with the proviso that I respect my friends judgment. However, when I asked their Family Reunion search people to locate my son with a view to mediating a 'family reunion'they found him quickly enough - not hard to find a practising specialist medico, even in a city as big as Sydney.

But then they refused to get involved at any further level, saying that the 'lost' person had to want to be reunited with their parent. I regard this as a total cop-out! Unless they are intimidated by his degrees and professional status, in which case they stand accused of lack of professional cred.

In any case, I have become convinced that calling an organisation a 'charity' is tantamount to naming them as crooks. Not that I want the government to butt in and take over.

Meantime, folks, please read up on the RSPCA - preferably by googling websites that come up when you look for RSPCA injustice, RSPCA atrocities, PETMAFIA, CareAWARE, and other links you will find listed on these sites. And - don't give them any money at all, ever.
