Wow. What a mess - of every kind!

You didn't actually say where the flow is issuing from. Is it a mine shaft?

Also, if the company rejected the findings that it had caused it, why was it making compensation payments, and where did the $400 m fund come from?

And why only 40,000 people displaced? Presumably in highly populated East Java that is quite a small area?

So what are the affected people doing? Presumably they are moving elsewhere?

Interesting about the land tenure too. Does it provide for freehold in theory only too corrupt to enforce it? Or does it continue a pre-colonial jurisprudence that does not recognise freehold?
