Ethnic cleansing in the Israeli Negev : Comments

By Neve Gordon, published 6/8/2010

The razing of a Bedouin village by Israeli police shows how far the state will go to achieve its aim of Judaising the Negev region.

What can be the justification for this ethnic cleansing? When is it ever goingto end?
Were the bedoin arabs given an option of leaving or having their homes razed?

This is sickening. I hate the Israelis who are responsible. I happen to know the acute embarrassment these acts are to The Peace Now people and other Israelis and diaspora Jews who oppose these gestapo actions.

More crimes against humanity.
When will the world wake up?
There are cells waiting for the criminal Israeli leadership at Nuremberg.
DO IT NOW!

The right thing is just to call it vicious state discrimination and ethnic cleansing of indigenous Bedouin by the Israeli authorities.

Another Israeli activist, Oren Yiftachel who works with the Bedouin has written exclusively for this for the Australian Jewish Democratic Society @ http://ajds.org.au/node/288. It is the best account of what has happened.

Why do I oppose the use of terms like gestapo? Because there is no comparison between what the Gestapo did and this. Using the term Gestapo might make you feel good because it is an insult and upsets many Jews, but it more accurate to stick to the facts. It's similar to throwing around the term Islamo-fascism. It's just hate speech. And remember that Israelis themselves have been quite involved in opposing this disgraceful activity by the state against very poor people and other Palestinians whose rights are being trampled on.

There is so much unpacking of falacy and scandal in this article it's difficult to know where to start !

Firstly, the claim that the Bedoin are 'indigenous' in some way like the Australian Aboriginals, is a cheap ploy by left wing so called 'human rights' fraudsters and racists to deny true human rights to Israelis.

Secondly the Bedoin are NOMADIC by nature, so any talk of property rights is rediculous.

Thirdly, man of these so called Bedoin are in fact BOSNIANS sent there during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian in the 6th century.

This whole article is just a slanderous racist rant against the true custodians of that whole area...being the 12 tribes of Israel who have a divine mandate to rule it.

The tribes of Israel dwelt in that area as far back as the time of Moses. They have both a natural historial right and a theological right to claim, rule, run and alter that land.

All fraudulent racist anti semitic communists can butt 'out' of that and don't think anyone will be fooled by your scandalously pernicious use of the term 'human rights' that, is a total joke.

larryjhs is absolutely correct. Eretz Israel is the Zionist's land. Just as it was their forebears until their sins caused to smite them through the Romans and Christians. The Bedouins of Palestine have no more rights to exist or claims to property than the Aboriginals of Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the Americas, Africa, Asia, Micronesia, Melanesia or Jericho. The failure of the Bedouins to have a system of property surveys recognized by their conquerors deprives them of all rights as the Aboriginals of Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the Americas, Africa, Asia, Micronesia, Melanesia or Jericho lost all right to exist by their discovery or liberation. The entire world belongs to God's chosen as he said, "Ask of me, and I shall give thee, the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the Earth for thy possession."

As much as Julian Assange has done, unless the death squads get him, he'll get away clean. May he live long and prosper.

Bradley Manning is facing spending his life or his youth in prison.

He'd enjoy a card from you.

You may have to send it more than once.

["Secondly the Bedoin are NOMADIC by nature, so any talk of property rights is rediculous."]

As were the Aborigines of Australia, of the Americas, of Africa and many other examples including some in Europe but I guess the most important one in the context of your attempted rebuke is that so were the JEWS of Western Asia. Come to think of it they've been pretty bloody NOMADIC everywhere, haven't they?

Westy.... the Aboriginals of Australia DO have a claim here.... they WERE the originals as far as we know. They don't need a divine mandate to have a right to the place.

The only think they lacked is the power.. as with all conquered people.
They had the right...but not the 'might'...and now history has moved on.

In the case of Israel?

a) They have the historic right
b) The divine mandate
c) The power to keep it.

Be thankful they don't exercise ALL of that divine mandate which gives them from the Red sea to the Euphrates mate.

AllGoreisRich....rich in what?
Very misinformed; or is it wilful self-dellusionment?
The Israelis do
NOT have a historic claim.Get your Ancient History correct. What history book did you get and from whom?
NOT have a divine rigjht at all. Recent anthropoligal work has put an end to this delusion as well. Why dont you get a copy of the studies made by Israel Finkelstein & Neil Asher Silberman called "The Bible Unearthed"? Notice anything revealing about the names?
Finkelstein is Director of trhe Sonia & Marco Nadler Institute of Archaeology at TEL AVIV UNIVERSITY, if you dont mind and Silberman is Director for the Ename Centre for Public Archeology and Heritage Presentation in Belgium. Their research has been endorse by BARUCH Halpern, author of "The Hebrew Bible and History" and Jonathon Kirsch of the Losangeles Times.

Need I say any more.

The Israelis are the worst thieves of Real Estate in Palestine. History bears evidence of this. That is, if you are even modeerately read in Palestinian History in the 20th Century
